Blood is meant for circulation
  Voluntary donate blood it takes only 5- 6 minutes of actual bleeding time.
   
Donor should be
 
more than 18 years
Below 55 years
Have a hemoglobin (Hb) not less then 12.5 gm/dl.
Have weight not below 45 kg
Have normal body temperature
Have normal Blood Pressure
Should be free from any disease
   
 
Only 350 ml of blood is taken, the volume of donated blood is corrected with in 24-48 hr by the body and Red cell count is corrected in about 56 days
   
Procedure
  Whole procedure takes about 30 minutes.
   
 
Replacement / Volunteer donor report to blood bank department.
He is assessed and undergoes medical examination.
He rests for 5-10 mts
He is then bled
He is provided refreshment after blood donation
Then he goes home
