THE DEPARTMENT IS HEADED BY DR. DILIP BHALLA,
DM , DNB
This Department caters to the Kidney related problems
including dialysis and renal transplant follow-ups.
The department is a well equipped Hemo-dialysis
Unit with 5 latest NIPRO/fresenious Japanese-make
machines. Water for dialysis is provided by Reverse
Osmosis (RO) system. A facility for bicarbonate
dialysis is available in three shifts with arrangement
to provide emergency dialysis round the clock
and a separate dedicated machine for critically
ill patients is available in ICUs for bedside
dialysis.
The dialysis is managed by residents round the
clock.
The Department
has also facilities for initiating patients for
Continuous Ambulatory Pentoneal Dialysis (CAPD).
In addition, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy
(CRRT) is being done
A significant number of patients of Post Kidney
Transplant have been visiting the Department for
follow-up at NMH.
